We are pleased to announce two new members to the SOLA Editorial Board. Faith Chang and Tom Sugimura will be contributing articles and curating content for our website.
Faith lives in New York with her husband Jeff and their four kids. She serves at Grace Christian Church of Staten Island where Jeff pastors. She has a Certificate in Christian Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary and writes at Reformed Margins and her blog, Keeping Heart.
A contributor to SOLA Network since 2019, Faith writes beautifully on various topics from parenting to current events. How to “Read the Bible with your Family” shows us how practical and important this habit can be, while “No, I’m Not a Pro: How to Parent our Children’s Souls” reminds us that we don’t have to be perfect.
Faith has also written about current events, from reflections on the Black Lives Matter movement (“God Cares About Both and We Can Too”) to asking “Why We Need Wonder In Our COVID-19 World.” We are grateful for her words as they encourage us to look towards Christ in all things.
Tom Sugimura pastors New Life Church in Woodland Hills and leads the Greenhouse Church Planting Residency. He is the author of Hope for New Dads, as he and his wife, Amanda, are raising four rambunctious children. Tom blogs at Grace & Truth about the intersection between life and Scripture.
Tom has written powerful articles for SOLA on topics ranging from church ministry to parenting, often penning them as open letters. He exhorts fellow pastors (“An Open Letter to the Pandemic-Surviving Pastor”) and addresses hard topics to his children (“A Letter to My Children About Racism”).
He also shares about Asian American Christian history, sharing powerful testimonies from Japanese internment camps (“The Church Behind Barbed Wire: The Stories of Japanese American Christians in Internment Camps”) and the Chinese immigrant churches (“Why I’m Thankful for the Chinese Immigrant Church”). We are thankful that he will continue to share both his thoughts and the stories of others with SOLA Network and the church.
We at the SOLA Network are excited to see how these two new members will contribute to equipping and empowering the next generation.
The Editorial Board also includes: Daniel K. Eng, Hannah Chao, Moses Y. Lee, Soojin Park, Kevin Yi, and Tim St. John.
Board members write, edit, and procure content for the website to empower Christians, especially Asian American Christians. All of our board members believe that God has called them to work together in shaping the gospel voice for and of the emerging Asian American generation.
