We exist to influence the emerging generation of Asian Americans with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is indeed the Savior who drank the cup of God

This is indeed the Savior who drank the cup of God’s wrath on our behalf, the Son of God sent to bear the sins of his people, the Lamb who was slain. Yet this Savior is tender at heart: a King who desires to be with his subjects, a Shepherd who longs to be with his sheep, a God who delights to be with his people. His with-ness is at the essence of redemption.

Maybe our anger can forge a connection to our Savior, who felt anger at the injustice of those taking advantage of the vulnerable at the temple, at those who would not stand for people to have restricted access to God’s presence?

Maybe our sorrow can remind us of the One who wept over the death of Lazarus, at the pain that his friends experience, even though he knew the resurrection was coming.

In the time we have people in our church, we hope

In the time we have people in our church, we hope to train, equip, and disciple those God sends to us in order to send them out again with having gained a greater devotion to Him and a bigger missional perspective.

As the world is coming to Korea, the harvest is ripe for the gospel. 2.5 million foreigners have made Korea their home, with possibly another 1 to 1.5 million undocumented residing here.

In this episode of Asian American Parenting, Monica and Danny discuss anxiety and how it impacts Asian American parents, and offer a hopeful encouragement to parents who might be anxious parenting their teens. They discuss what the prior generations of Asian American parents might have passed down as far as anxiety issues to parents today, and how this impacts our teenagers and children now. They also contrast parenting from anxiety with “gentle” parenting. Finally, they offer exhortation and encouragement for parents and churches walking alongside anxious and “gentle” parents, to parent in the hope of the gospel and move away from being anxious parents.

In this interview, Trustee member Will Chang has a conversation with outgoing SOLA Network President, Harold Kim. Harold is the founder and has served as SOLA’s president for the past thirteen years, and SOLA wouldn’t be what it is today without him and his leadership. During the conversation, Harold shares reflections about his time in ministry, SOLA’s impact, and what’s next for him as he heads to South Korea to serve as the English Ministry Pastor of Onnuri Church in Seoul.

We are grateful for Harold’s love and leadership these past years, and excited for how God will use him in a new country and city for his glory.

In this second episode of Asian American Parenting, Danny and Monica continue the discussion on what gospel-centered parenting looks like within the context of Asian American faith and culture. They begin by discussing Judges 2:10 and what it means to pass on faith to the next generation of Asian American kids. They then talk about the social, cultural, and historical pressures that have impacted their faith life as Asian American parents. They focus on academic success as a factor in the faith life of parents and the next generation, and discuss how as parents we can navigate educational and academic success. Danny and Monica close by sharing a bad memory from each of their teenage years.
