Gaps to Care and Counseling in the Asian-American Church: Envisioning a Multi-Level System of Care and Counseling

Monica Kim, Ph.D., is a Christian counselor who has taught counseling courses as an associate faculty at CCEF and a lecturer at WTS. She spoke at the seventh session of the AALC Conference. Her talk was titled, “Gaps to Care and Counseling in the Asian-American Church: Envisioning a Multi-Level System of Care and Counseling.” 

In her talk, Monica Kim talked about the growing numbers of Asian American parishioners who are seeking and needing care and counseling. This increase has highlighted significant gaps regarding care and counseling in the Asian American church. Her talk explored some of these gaps and envisioned a more systematic process for care and counseling in the church.
