Introduction to SOLA Conference 2020’s Plenary Speakers

We are excited to introduce our three plenary speakers: Kim Kira, Watson Jones III, and Owen Lee. Each of them wholeheartedly believes in the power of God’s word, and we are honored that they will be speaking on the topic of “Reconciliation” at our SOLA Conference in March.

Kim Kira

Kim is the primary teaching elder at Lighthouse Community Church in Torrance, California. His ministry is driven by a deep desire to encourage people with the transformative power of the Gospel, the Good News that offers not only entrance into heaven but powerful and practical hope for change in everyday life. Beyond ministry, Kim loves to spend time with his wife Jen and their four children. His other interests include watching and playing sports, eating red meat, and trying new restaurants.

Watson Jones III

Watson Jones III is the Senior Pastor of Compassion Baptist Church on Chicago’s Southside. He served as the Lead and Founding Pastor of Restoration Church of Philadelphia. Before starting his church, Watson served in a dual two-year church-planting residency under the leadership of Dr. Eric Mason of Epiphany Fellowship in North Philadelphia and Fellowship Associates in Little Rock, Arkansas. Before moving to Philadelphia, Watson served as a staff pastor at his home church, Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, where he served as Children’s Pastor and eventually Youth Pastor while leading a group of 1,000 members in various church-wide activities. Watson has a Bachelor’s of Art in Business from Trinity International University, a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric. Watson is married to his wife Kelli, and together they have three children, Yeshaya, Watson IV, and Ellison.

Owen Lee

Owen serves as the Senior Pastor of Christ Central Presbyterian Church in Centreville, VA. He received his B.A. in Rhetoric at U.C. Berkeley and his M.Div. at Westminster Seminary, CA. Before his call to serve as the Senior Pastor of Christ Central in 2012, he served as the English Ministry Pastor of New Life Mission Church in Fullerton, CA from 2000 to 2002, and then as the church-planting pastor of New Life Mission Church in Burbank, CA from 2002 to 2011. He is married to Margaret, and they have 3 children together- Abby, Caleb, and Lizzy.
